The Lumon Line is a collaboration with hit Apple TV series Severance and popular clothing brand ZARA. The line was designed to promote season 3 of the show set to come out in 2027. The styles are geared toward business casual basics inspired by looks from your favorite characters.
I designed a physical space and a booklet full of the products, styled looks, and background of the collaboration.
Overview
For this project, I envisioned what a product and space would look like based on two completely different “brands”. When approaching the designs, I asked myself how can I combine these two groups so that they complement each other?
The result was a collaboration that was mutually beneficial to both brands, a new identity that incorporated components from each.
process
Going into designing the pop up collaboration, I already had a familiarity and interest in Severence. I am fan of the show and love the designs that went into creating the first two seasons of the show. I started by sketching signature outfits and styles that came to mind when thinking of the show, this progressed into scenes that resonated with me as well. I began imagining what these components would like like as a small themed clothing shop that exists in two shipping containers.
takeaways
I had a lot of fun working on this project. I enjoyed having creative freedom to pick two brands that I like in real life and imagining what they would be like combined. Designing the space and product itself gave me practice in utilizing my imagination and skills as a designer to bring this collaboration to the real world.
